After our insane trip to "Milford Sound" we spent the night at "Cascade Creek" in "Fiordland". In the night we had perfect conditions to capture some beautiful photos of the milky way - no clouds and complete darkness (new moon)!
After a night without much sleep we went on to "Invarcargrill" and from there along the South and East Coast. This part of New Zealand is also known as "The Catlins“ and it has some interesting highlights. We saw some nice coast lines like "Nugget Point" and a little blue penguin.
As a conclusion we would we would say that "the Catlins" is a part of New Zealand which is not necessary a must see. Especially when you don’t bring enough time with you there are definitely more interesting places to visit!
Nach unserem wundervollen Ausflug am "Milford Sound" verbachten wir die Nacht auf dem "Cascade Creek" Campingplatz im "Fiordland Nationalpark". Wir hatten in der Nacht sehr großes Glück, da wir Neumond und einen wolkenlosen Himmel hatten, welcher uns einen perfekten Blick auf die Milchstraße ermöglichte. Wir verbrachten die halbe Nacht damit, den Moment so gut wie möglich auf Fotos festzuhalten.
Danach ging es weiter nach "Invarcargrill" und von dort aus die Süd - Ostküste entlang. Diese Strecke nennt man auch "The Catlins“ und diese birgt ein paar interessante Highlights. Wir sahen raue Küsten und schöne Felsformationen, sowie die "Mooraki Boulders" und den "Nugget Point"! Außerdem hatten wir das Glück, dass uns ein kleiner Blaupinguin über den Weg gewatschelt ist. Die "The Catlins“ Strecke ist allgemein ganz interessant, birgt aber keine großen Highlights und ist nicht ganz so empfehlenswert, wenn man nicht wirklich genügend Zeit mitbringt.
